Obedience is Better Than Sacrifice

A fishing boat was wrestled by a storm in the middle of the sea. The wind and the waves would seem to break the ship apart. With this, the ship captain ordered his first-mate to tell the other crews to prepare the lifeboat and prepare to evacuate the ship. Without a single word the first-mate hastily ran and told the others. The crew is busy preparing the lifeboat and supporting the ship keeping it from breaking apart. The strong wind and giant waves that tirelessly shake the boat’s sail didn’t stopped the crew from pursuing their captain’s orders and attentively waiting for their captain’s next command, for they knew that their safety rest on their captains hand. The Opportunity To Do Good

James 1:12

“Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”

One afternoon, my 7th grader niece arrived from school and ran to my mother, cheerfully she told her grandmother about her busy day at school. It was 7:00 pm and we are having our dinner already, and my niece still in the midst of her story telling, my mom is very patient paying attention on what my niece is telling. After the meal, I told my niece to fix herself and do her homework. I helped my mom to clean the dining area, while she was washing the dishes she suddenly smiled, out of curiosity I asked my mother what my niece told her that seemed to made her happy. Walking Tall…Live a Worry-Free Life

Isaiah 41:10

Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Worrying has been part of our lives since we were infants. We are worried for our safety, bothered with trust vs mistrust issues  and very anxious about separation from our love ones. And as we grow up, tensions pile up on our shoulders, and the things we worried becomes more and more complicated. Read More

Faith is Not Hoping God Can it is Knowing He Will

John 20:29

Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Last Sunday’s reading was about Thomas and his faith. When Jesus appeared in front of the other disciples, Thomas was not with them, so his fellow disciples told him about the great news, yet Thomas didn’t  believed and told them that he will only believe if he could see Jesus with his own eyes, put his fingers where the nails were and put his hand on Jesus’ side. Little Miracles

Jeremiah 32:27

“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?”

When God steps in, miracles happen… I like this message because it is quite simple but meaningful. My sister gave birth to a premature baby girl, her youngest. The baby was just nearly 7 months old, she was too skinny and small and barely could eat, making her weak. Because she was a premature baby she was placed inside the infant incubator to support her development. Read More

Unfailing Love

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

One random day inside the train when I was travelling to work, there were two teenage girls sitting in front of me. I know that they’re college students because of their uniforms. Though I’m concentrating on the book I am reading,  I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, and I overheard one of them saying “there is no FOREVER in love” while teasing the other girl. Read More
